Joy Rae Brown AKA Joi Lansing (1929-1972)

was an American model, film and television actress, and nightclub singer. She was noted for her pin-up photos and roles in B-movies, as well as a prominent role in the famous opening “tracking shot” in Orson Welles’ 1958 crime drama Touch of Evil.

Lansing was often cast in roles similar to those played by her contemporaries Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren. She frequently was clad in skimpy costumes and bikinis that accentuated her figure (34D bust), but she never posed nude. She passed away from Breast cancer at 43

With a career spanning eight decades, she is known for her roles on stage and screen, and is one of the last remaining stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Among her numerous accolades, she is one of the few actors to have been awarded an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony – referred to as the “Grand Slam” of American Show Business. Her role as Anita in the 1961 film adaptation of West Side Story made her the first Latina to win an Academy Award
