Linda Darnell was born in Dallas, Texas, one of five children of a post office worker and his wife. It was evident at an early age that she would be a ravishing beauty, and her mother encouraged her to model. By age 11 she was modeling clothes for an area department store. She had appeared in a total of 46 films and often described as the “girl with the perfect face”,

Tragic.
She was a beautiful woman. I had forgotten how lovely.
I remember her from “Zero Hour!” (the movie “Airplane!” is based on; it was hard to watch as the drama it is rather than the comedy of the later movie). She is very attractive.
Died to soon and a very tragic way to die.
Based on? hell, it was almost a play-by-play reckoning
Yes, it was. According to a trivia note on “Zero Hour!” on IMDB, the Zuckers and Abraham bought the rights to ZH! so they could use it–and then added the humor.
If you can stop thinking about Airplane!, Zero Hour! is pretty good and suspenseful.
