Marie Windsor (1919-2000) would receive actual copies of the Bible where they underlined the sins her characters had committed. Sometimes they would just send her Bible verses with letters warning her to repent, or she would go to hell.
Off screen, she actually led a rather bland lifestyle and managed to remain out of the tabloid spotlight throughout her career.
