The USS Lincoln is rotting at sea

The United States Naval Aircraft Carrier is normally a formidable sight – a brute show of unmatched power and presence that says we mean what we promise to be peacekeepers of the world and a force to be reckoned with should anyone ever want to test that. A floating city with thousands of enlisted men and women, and a flurry of activity all hours of the day ensures combat readiness at any given time.

This beacon of pride is not that at all. Morale is in the shitter – broken shitter at that – as these sailors are kept away from their families and tormented with a ridiculously long deployment far outside the realm of standard Navy protocol; all to satisfy a clueless Secretary of Defense.

My late Daddy served on the USS Forrestal during Vietnam. Even during combat operations the ship remained “Showroom Fresh” with painting and maintenance being a top priority. This picture is a disgrace to our legacy as a leading superpower – all in the name of the President’s Ego.

Thanks, Swifty!
