Patco’s Travels; Featuring Brother-in-Law Paul

Patco recently attended a few games in St. Louis to cheer on Jonco’s brother Paul (who did all the traveling in this edition of Patco’s Travels).

She writes: There were 6 teams of over age 80 men from all over who traveled to Edwardsville Illinois. Paul’s traveling team from Kansas City joined with teams from Chicago, Florida and Las Vegas. Tuesday was a grueling day with three games back to back to back.  In the second game we had 3 over the fence home runs. Then the umpire said that any home run after that will automatically be a single. So we had an additional 2 Home Run Singles in that game. On the second day, a fellow Glutton, Steve Ketner who also still plays softball in St Louis,  came by to cheer Paul’s team on.

I call this the “JetWay Jesus” ;

Because Southwest is a first come, first choice seating arrangement as long as you are on the plane early enough. What’s funny is that at the END of the journey, only 2-3 people need assistance getting off the plane and into the terminal.

It’s a Miracle! Praise Be!

Sincerely, Me

One of the strangest “flying” machines

The culmination of Soviet experiments, the 380-ton Lun was classed as an ekranoplan—a ground-effect vehicle most at home up to 16 feet in the air, its eight turbofan engines hurtling it along at 340 mph. It entered service in 1987 but the collapse of the Soviet Union led to the project’s abandonment in the 1990s.
