When I started working, probably some time after these ads were running, my take home was $85 every two weeks. $49/month for a house payment would have been about half a paycheque. When I bought this house some twenty years later, the monthly mortgage payment was about…half a paycheque. Driving wages up drives everything else up to match…remember that the next time you ask the robot for your $20 hamburger ‘meal deal’ because flipping burgers after school has turned into a permanent job with a ‘living wage’ you need to buy that 4 bedroom house with a pool, a new SUV and that vacation in the Bahamas on. The ‘minimum wage’ is zero.
Imagine how much they are worth now.
Snow bird special.
