You are required to use food places for directions. That is the only acceptable landmark. They could have closed 20 years ago — but only food establishments.
A friend of mine used to tell me things like “if you get to the green house, you have gone too far.” Or, for Rockalilly, “if you get to where the Burger Chef used to be, you have gone too far.”
Urgh–tell me what to look for BEFORE I go too far.
I am glad GPS is around and use it frequently.
