1. Why does the British (or maybe Scottish?) navy have a bow on their cap?

   • it’s the tied ribbon adorned with the vessel name. the tie ends in a bow

     • Okay–but I would think they would have either put the bow in the back or use a different knot to keep the ribbon on.
