You should have learned that there are two SEXES. The word gender refers only to language, that is words. Words can be masculine or feminine. That is to say there are two and only two Genders. Two sexes, two genders. Anything else is mental illness. You maam are proof that education does not equal intelligence. And Intersex is so rare as to the height of silliness to bring up.
“Intersex is so rare as to the height of silliness to bring up.”
Is it really?
Approximately 363,000 babies are born each day in the world.
Not XX and not XY one in 1,666 births
Klinefelter (XXY) one in 1,000 births
Androgen insensitivity syndrome one in 13,000 births
Partial androgen insensitivity syndrome one in 130,000 births
Classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia one in 13,000 births
Late onset adrenal hyperplasia one in 66 individuals
Vaginal agenesis one in 6,000 births
Ovotestes one in 83,000 births
Idiopathic (no discernable medical cause) one in 110,000 births
Iatrogenic (caused by medical treatment, for instance progestin administered to pregnant mother) no estimate
5 alpha reductase deficiency no estimate
Mixed gonadal dysgenesis no estimate
Complete gonadal dysgenesis one in 150,000 births
Hypospadias (urethral opening in perineum or along penile shaft) one in 2,000 births
Hypospadias (urethral opening between corona and tip of glans penis) one in 770 births
Total number of people whose bodies differ from standard male or female one in 100 births
Total number of people receiving surgery to “normalize” genital appearance one or two in 1,000 births
The above numbers are approximations, but still offer something to work with.
and those are just the statistics that get reported. Oftentimes the parents are given the ultimate choice of gender for their newborns when faced with an intersex decision – do they want to raise a Johnny or a Jane?
So if something is rare then it doesn’t exist? Kind of like finding a diamond in nature.
And “basic biology” doesn’t just apply to humans! We all know about the problem farmers have distinguishing bulls from cows, or roosters from hens, or . . .

Guess it depends on one’s definition of rare.
