Let’s talk about comments and site content

A few have complained about the political memes, news essays, and even contributor content. Here’s the bottom line on all that – YOU TOO CAN CONTRIBUTE. And I’m not referring to the parroting of partisan talking points on comments, either. If you have a counter-point to anything posted here, by all means spell it out WITH CITATIONS.

Some have told me you aren’t happy with Heather Cox Richardson’s recap of the news. That’s fine, give me one to post that shows “The other side” of that “rhetoric” if you will. And considering it takes THREE STEPS to get to her essays, that are posted in the overnight hours on a separate platform, any “forced” exposure to her writings is on you. I publish her news recaps and essays because she is an eloquent writer and speaker, telling the news in a way that we can all understand while leaving it completely up to us as to how we feel ABOUT the news, rather than being told the news AND how you should feel about it.

And for those who comment or email me with insulting F-bombs (telling me to satisfy myself in a productive manner) will get you blocked from the site – and endanger your access to ANY domain powered by WordPress.

So, for all my loyal readers and newcomers – email me with content you want to see, whether it be memes, limericks, or even counter-points to the news: [email protected]

as for the rest? well, Fuck you too.

Sincerely, Me

  1. i enjoy your site! always funny!! thank you and keep doing what you do! and i will never critisize you ilove the humor!

  2. Gen X’r here. I just found this site a few months ago and now check in daily. Thanks for your meme content and your own original words of common sense. Keep it up!

  3. I don’t remember how I found this site. I have enjoyed it for years. You do you. I especially liked the “Fuck you too” Words that need to be said a lot more often in society.

  4. I´ve been lurking here for years. I was pleasantly suprised and encouraged to see the HCR posts. It´s your blog, do what you will. d

  5. We now live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won’t be offended.

  6. Some don’t want to hear anything if it contradicts their already firmly implanted bias.
The present administration counts on that and certain news media outlets back him up on all things, Wrong or wronger.
One of those adherents to this administration the first time around said to me that comedians should stay in their own lane and stay out of politics. I brought up some that are now gone like George Carlin and Will Rodgers. The current situation our country is slipping and sliding into should and does concern everyone.
Keep it up. With humor in between. They don’t like being made fun of or protests then they become the ” I’m The Victim Here.” singing group.

    • That stay in your own lane is a crock of shit. Celebrities, sports stars, etc, they’re all people who are affected by policy. Not to mention, many have empathy for human lives. Jon Voight is a complete douche and lacks empathy in regards to his opinions, but hey, as misinformed as he is, he’s still entitled to an opinion. Albeit, wrong because his sources are all wrong.

  7. Rather than being upset by political content, I’m reassured that what’s happening in the US isn’t just being swept under the rug for the sake of keeping the rabble quiet and content. We’re horrified in Canada by events in parts of the US. I have a married daughter living and working there, and waiting 7 months for her green card to be renewed, so this is personal. I’m so thankful to see proof that not every American hates outsiders – yes, Canadians are now outsiders – and that there’s some semblance of sanity to be found on the internet. Thank you for entertaining us daily and reminding us that we’re all in this together, and we’ll all survive this together. United We Stand includes us, too. – A loyal fan from Canuckistan

Yet, somehow they never do. All their opinions seem to be based in feelings. Studies show that conservative men, and law enforcement officers particularly, are generally submissive men who need a “strict father” figure to tell them what to do and who crave regular reinforcement — often achieved by using violence — for their fragile sense of masculinity.

That fragile masculinity was challenged recently by two victims: When Pretti tried to put himself between the ICE thugs and the young woman they were beating up, he enraged them by claiming some power for himself. After being knocked down, he staggered back up from that, again asserting his personal power, which was apparently the final straw, so they murdered him. Finding the gun just became an excuse to hide behind their beta personality.

When Good said, “I’m not mad at you” it was an abusive beta (husband’s) reaction to a woman not reacting to his intimidation as he needed. In a marriage, she would have received the back of hand, but now they’ve been directed by daddy to be firmer, much firmer. So, she was shot.

Conservatives look for a “daddy” to guide them, to direct them, to blindly follow and never challenge him.

So citations are outside their understanding. They need to be told what to think. If information contradicts what they’re told, that information is dismissed or ignored.

    • and there are no (credible) citations for parroted talking points

and explains the knee-jerk accusation of “TDS”
