I totally agree. The whole point of going somewhere is to meet the people, eat the food and hear (and dance to) their music. It’s how I discovered shawarma.

I agree. When I travel, I try to find only local restaurants I can eat at.
Adds to the fond and eventually funny memories.
Sometimes, though, I do hit a chain restaurant–but I try to make it a rare occurance.
Our rule is to always eat where there are a lot of local cars. Because if they could go home but choose to eat there, it must be good.
but they have mcspaghetti in the philippines…
