When I was twelve I had one that looked just like that. I mowed lawns all summer for the money. Two-and-a-half h.p. Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine. I discovered you could remove the governor and connect the cable directly to the throttle and go twice as fast. And the noise of it wasn’t obnoxious enough, so I removed the muffler and replaced it with a straight bit of pipe. No helmet, of course.
Now I’m out for a walk and kids scoot politely silently by on their electric bikes and scooters and skateboards and very cool one-wheel things, and the ones who are the offensive yahoos are all my age, gunning their behemoth motorcycles loud enough for the sound to shake your chest. And now I’m like, /Why?/

Looks like a ’64 Plymouth station wagon in the backround.
