The UK isn’t really that bad.
I was diagnosed as having cataracts in both eyes in June of last year, and had the right eye operated on in August.
Four months later, which allows time for any problems to arise, I had the other eye done.
Last Tuesday I went to see my Doctor as I had noticed a lump in my arm, and I’m due to have x rays and other tests done next Friday.
Our National Elf contributions cover the entire cost.
And I’m sure that they realize their taxes go towards it. No one with even half a brain thinks that anyone’s healthcare is free. We all realize that we all pay for it through taxes. It would be nice though if it wasn’t tied to your job.
At least they don’t have to go bankrupt if they don’t have insurance. Or just don’t seek help, because they can’t afford it. I’d rather pay more in taxes than see people suffer because they don’t have it it as good as me.
the ONLY one of these that’s correct is the USA. no insurance, you might get care sometime and you’ll pay until you’re dead. it’s because republicans in Marica actually think they’re good people and no one should pay taxes and nothing, not even education for their own kids should be free. but they also want wars funded and crooked cops funded. and they could care less about clean water and air– these are facts.

I’ve a mate in Staffordshire who had both knees replaced within six weeks of diagnosis. Pretty efficient if you ask me
In both the UK and Canada, if you show up needing emergency services (stitches), you get care RIGHT NOW. No delay and no bill.
Yes, if you need optional care, there may be a wait, but often not as long as in the U.S.
AUSTRALIA, Free,
Not exactly free–the cost is covered by taxes or another way that buries what it costs.

That would be nice if all health insurance was not tied to your job, but there is private insurance one can get in the US if self-employed.
