Authoritarians always want to stifle the truth. No matter in what form over the years. From the town crier, to pamphlets and newspapers, then radio and TV and now the internet.
But, stifling lies and actual threats to the people’s and national welfare and security are different than stifling the truth. Like when the Biden administration requested that social media put the brakes on lies about the Covid vaccinations.
I am getting to think that we are back to square one with this administration and the stifling of the truth. TDS= Trump Desires Stifling.
