I grew up in a rural area so I know the difference between pets and future food.
Talking with people who grew up in the suburbs who have a hard time telling the difference is quite interesting.
Which begs the question why we stopped eating dogs…
…and cats. There’s a reason why cats are also known as “roof rabbits”…
When we were in Belize we learned that iguanas are known as “Bamboo Chicken”
If one reads the Journals of Lewis and Clark then one discovers they bought (traded) and ate dogs from the Native Americans when they couldn’t get any game..
