I ask my wife each morning what she wants for diner, before she leaves for work, since I am retired. Usually she just chooses the protein, and sometimes she even asks for a particular dish. Although I am running out of variations of “I don’t know.’ and “I don’t care.” dishes.
I’ve switched to “What don’t you want for dinner?” Because that’s usually an easier answer for both of us. Then we can eliminate a few things each that we aren’t in the mood for and it’s a much smaller list for us to agree on.
