On this day in history, Michelangelo died in 1564, and Toni Morrison was born in 1931.
Toni Morrison said “At some point in life the world’s beauty becomes enough. You don’t need to photograph, paint, or even remember it. It is enough.”
Luckily, Michelangelo still sculpted David, and I remember these amazing magnets. They also had a version for Venus, and they were sold in museum gift shops.

If you get a chance, go to Florence, Italy, and see the statue of David. It is incredible to see in person even if, like me, naked men do not do anything for you.
While there, go to the Uffizi (art museum) and see the “Birth of Venus” so you can see the animated foot Monty Python used in their “Flying Circus” T.V. show.
Italy is definitely on the eventual travel list! Spain is next — and then Norway, but Italy is probably not long after that!
And if you make it to Italy: keep in mind, that country is younger than the USA.
It was a bunch of city-states until they united in the 1860s.
