  1. Jonco,
Just a short traffic advisory I received which might affect you. Don’t know if this is suitable, but it is kinda funny. Great site. Keep it up.
    Thanks
    Dave

For those of you who might be considering a road trip, be
    advised:

Portions of I-64, I-70, I-29, and I-90 will be closed this
week end. Expect long delays along these interstate highways plus major
traffic disruptions in Charleston, WV Louisville, KY, St Louis, MO, Kansas
    City, MO and Omaha, NE.

A 500-ton piece of coal is being moved from West Virginia to
South Dakota so that Barack H. Obama can be added to Mt. Rushmore.

WHY? Nobody actually walks around with 3D glasses on “just in case” some idiot happens to have a shitty 3D logo tattooed to their person shouting the words “RIDICULE ME” every five seconds, so WHY BOTHER?

I’d be willing to counter that with a “why not?”.

I actually do carry around 3D glasses with me in the hopes of finding someone with one of these interesting tattoos. Who doesn’t love 3D??

  3. Hey Jonco! Still love your site and I go almost daily. 🙂 But I was wondering if you could help me and a friend of mine. His name’s Juan Rogers, he and I go to Douglas Anderson for Piano (he’s better than me though) and he has this Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JttVvpkiV2U And asked me for help getting him some more views for a contest. It’s an arrangement of “All the Way to the Edge of this World” by The Pillows for a contest which, if he wins, he gets to meet The Pillows; his favorite band. I was wondering if you could help us out and post his video. I understand if you don’t want to post his sort of amatuer video, but please watch it and see if you like it. It would really boost his views if you did.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hey Jonco. Sorry to waste space here and bother you about it again, but I’d appreciate it if you could respond yes or no whether you can post the video. I’m sorry if i’m mooching, but it would REALLY help his views, and the contest ends in a week (next saturday). Please at least watch the video before you decide though. Juan is an amazing pianist and his arrangement of the song is good, he just doesn’t have enough views.

    Thanks!

  5. Jonco,

This might be a fun exercise. Next time you leave an open mic, ask folks to browse through their bookmarks and post their 3 favorite websites for we regulars to check out. Might find some new places that are interesting to visit.

  6. Just wanted to say that once in every working day, there comes a moment when it’s Bits & Pieces time. Sometimes it’s in the morning, before we can face anything. Sometimes it’s a reward for accomplishment. Sometimes it’s just to remind ourselves that there are actually dumber places on earth than where we are right now.

We need you, Jonco. Keep it up.

  8. Just thought I’d let you know I can’t access your blog in Google Chrome or IE8. Firefox worked though. This is the second day that I haven’t been able to get to it.

    Thanks!

  9. Just wanted to point out that tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state and the creation of the completion of the country as we know it today.

Statehood is still a hot topic in the islands, even after 50 years. It’s very interesting to read about the history of the islands and the feelings/opinions of those who want Hawaii to go back to territory or independent status. That said, the biggest economic boosts to Hawaii are tourism and the military, so the feasibility of the islands surviving without them is questionable.

Anyway, just wanted to pass the info on… I found it interesting and thought others would, too.
