I’ve been working on the new website, and I’d like to get some input from the B&P readers for one of my first posts.
What piece of advice were you given that has always stuck with you?
Here are the 12 most popular names suggested for a new website mentioned here.
In case you can’t read them, here is what they are (in no particular order): Note: To insure fairness, The order changes every time the poll loads.

I’m thinking about starting a new website. During my searches for B&P I run across things that I find inspiring, motivational, or just some great advice. Also some good quotes and inspirational stories. Occasionally I’ll post one or two of these here, but I want to create a better outlet for them. B&P is primarily a humor site and I don’t want to change it that much.
I’ve been doing some research on a name for the new site. Here are some that are available (as of now). It’s hard to come up with something clever that isn’t already taken.
I’m open to other ideas too. I’d like the input from my B&P friends. What do you guys think? Do you like one that I have listed, or can you think of another?
Bits & Pieces Speak Easy!
I’ve created a Google Voice phone number and linked it to Bits & Pieces. You can call the number and leave a message, a joke or anything you want to say. No one will answer the phone, it’s just for voicemail. Hopefully people will call in a joke or something funny. I’ll be the judge of what gets posted. If it’s funny I’ll probably post it. If it’s political or critical of someone else I probably won’t. Or if it’s too dirty it probably won’t get posted.
I know many have free long distance calls on their phones so it won’t cost them to call and leave a message. It is a St. Louis number, so if you don’t have free long distance, regular long distance charges will apply.
This is just a trial. If it doesn’t work out I’ll take it down.
How about a good joke?

RevRick asked me the other day how long I’ve been doing Bits & Pieces. I wasn’t sure, so I went back and looked it up.
The very first “Welcome” post was March 31, 2002. I didn’t post every day back then. The first actual content post wasn’t until April 3, 2002.
That’s 7 years 3 months and 15 days
Here’s what I posted that day:
