I teach English and just hang out with the kids trying to be a good role model. They are much better than me at soccer. I found your site in February while I was away in Asia and needed something interesting in English to read. I was also pleasantly surprised that you were from the STL. Now I check your page several times a day hoping for something to make me smile. This picture is actually two years old. I dressed as the hulk for halloween. I dyed my body green, with food coloring…bad choice. Didn’t come out for a couple of days. Going out in public always got some laughs. Well, keep up the good work and continue to be a detourant to my homesickness. :-)”

I share an IT company with 3 others and in my spare time(!?!?!) sing in a choir, act with a drama group and look after a music promoter’s website. I do have my own blog but haven’t found any time to post on it in the last couple of years. One day I will return to it but in the meantime I’ll have to make do with being a blogosphere lurker (though I’ve blown my anonymity now haven’t I?).

Reader mugshot update

As of right now I have 12 reader mugshots to post.   I’ve gotten a lot of response to the mugshot posts….  most of which is positive.  There were 5 or 6 people who said that don’t care for it at all.  They just want the funny stuff and don’t care about the personalities involved.  And I understand that.  Occasionally when I’m scouring my usual sites one might present a series of posts that I care nothing about… or don’t understand.  But I understand that they have every right to post what they want on their site.

I also understand that the mugshot posts, although some are humorous… they drift away from the typical type of content usually found on B&P.  For those who dislike them, I’d say that after today, the worst is probably over.  I’ll still post them, but they’ll be shorter in length and probably appear less often.  I might also create a page where they can be all posted together for those interested.

Occasionally I post about my visits to my aunt in Florida or our motorcycle trips.  I know some could care less about stuff like that, but others enjoy reading it.

So, it’s up to the reader to decide whether it’s worth sticking around through some posts they don’t care for or decide not to come back again.

  • When I go to a restaurant I don’t like everything on the menu
  • I might buy a CD, but that doesn’t mean I love every song on it
  • When I go to Six Flags I don’t ride every ride or see every show

I hope they find enough here to keep coming back, but if not no hard feelings here.

But I want to thank those that have participated in this little project.  It makes it a little more interesting when you can put a face to the comments that are posted.  I’m constantly amazed that people from all parts of the world read B&P.  It makes the world seem just a little bit smaller.    — Thanks again!

Sue writes: “Hi Jonco. . . I love your site!  I thought I’d send a mugshot that was enhanced through a site that you featured sometime in the past.  Incidently, that’s me with actor Miguel Ferrer. . .I totally faked the photo before I cartooned it. . .is it still  copyright infringement?  (If it is, you can just feature me)  My ultimate dream is to meet Miguel Ferrer in person, but unless he takes a trip to Central Maine, this faux-tograph is as close as I’ll get.
When I’m not messing with my work computers mspaint program, I’m usually working one of the many jobs needed in todays lackluster economy (which your funny site helps me to forget from time to time).  You name the work. . . chances are I’ve done it!”

I’ve been reading (and occasionally commenting) for at least 5 years now if not more. I truly can’t remember but it seems like forever. I have always found your site to be entertaining and fun to read. I appreciate that you try not tot get political and that you show funnies about both sides. I have “borrowed” a number of pictures you put here for my own use as screensavers and such because they strike me as either funny or cute.
My main hope is that you continue to scour the web so we don’t have to. I really do enjoy your site and it is one of my daily staples.”

I have a blog also, just started it this past May.  It is mostly about cars and my experiences with them, but other stuff also. www.oleragtop.blogspot.com.
I have included an image of me with my newest addition to my garage, a 1963 Ford Falcon Station Bus.  Bought on ebay in San Antonio, Texas, flew out and drove it home.  This to go along with my F150, Volvo 850 and BMW 325 convertible.  And I am single!!  Just love cars.

My husband calls me Eug but my name is Cassie and I just turned 33. I live in good ol’ Knoxville TN. I also sell Real Estate here in Knoxville so if you know anyone looking to move here I am your girl. I love to read blogs written by interesting people such as yourself. I am totally addicted to Craigslist. If you can’t find it on Crtaigslist you don’t need it. I love animals, the outdoors and anything crass and inappropriate. Which is why I love your blog. Thanks for sharing your adventures, and insights with me. I have a blog too so if you are ever bored you can check me out hehe cassiekiestler.blogspot.com

I’m in California, on the San Francisco peninsula. I blog anonymously about firearms, gun rights, motorcycles and anything else I think is interesting.
I’m married to The Commandress, my beautiful wife for 26 years. We have one son, a high school teacher who is going to be a Daddy in a week or so (making me a Grandpa, yikes!).
I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was ten, been a shooter a bit longer. Professionally, I’m an Automation Engineer, currently trying my hand at investing.
Please feel free to drop by my place and say hello..

“Oh,” says you.
“Cause I likes the funny,” continues I, “You ain’t’s as good as the MissCellania.”

B&P mugshot update

This has really taken off.  Right now I have 42 (about) pics to post.  I had a couple people re-send their pics because of me saying I had laptop problems.  I didn’t actually lose anything.  Your pics are still in my email, so you needn’t re-send them.  I had just prepared the post and for some stupid reason I deleted the pics from my desktop before I published the post and the pics didn’t publish.  So, I deleted the post because I didn’t have time to do it right.   I posted those last night.   I’ll post some more later today.

So, be patient… send in your pic and a little bit about you.  I’ll be glad to link to your blog or site as long as it’s relatively SFW.  No hardcore please.

Thanks for participating.

Back home safe and sound

Well, safe anyway.  We had a good trip.  Got home about 7:30 pm.  Ate way too much the whole weekend.  I had ice cream THREE TIMES today!  A vanilla cone at DQ at next to one of our gas stops.  A homemade drumstick at Ruby’s Ice Cream shop in St. James MO and some ice cream atop some bread pudding at Ponderosa in Eureka MO (near Six Flags, not Eureka Springs AR).

It had rained overnight so the roads were wet this morning leaving Branson, and the weather there said scattered showers and thunderstorms until the afternoon, but we didn’t hit any rain at all today.  Just some overcast clouds early in the day, then it cleared out and was mostly sunny.

At one of our gas stops we saw this….

Gas hose
The cashier at the gas station runs out to tell the elderly woman driver that she forgot something.

Gas hose2

Before we left a man was repairing the hose.  He said that’s the second time this week that this has happened.  I hope it wasn’t the same woman.

Back to regular programming tomorrow.  Thanks for putting up with this stuff.
