I made it home safe and sound.  Still no internet so I’m at my daughter’s just making a few posts.  I’ll try to post a few things tomorrow… and moderate comments …. I don’t want to get too big of a backlog there.  I’m getting a couple hundred comments on a good day so I have to keep on top of those daily.

Hopefully I’ll get my new modem by Tuesday and should be back to normal by Wednesday.

We’re hading home from snowy, cold Iowa.  It was a lot colder here Thursday when they tell me the temp hit -27 F.   Now that’s cold!  It makes 20 F feel like a heat wave.

I’ll try to check comments tonight if I can find some free wireless locally, but don’t expect much in new posting the next couple of days.

My broadband modem died today.  They’re sending me a new one but I probably won’t get it until Tuesday.  I’m off to Iowa early Saturday morning.  I’ll try to post when I get there if I can.

I’m back and things should be back to normal here.  Except I woke up this morning feeling like I’ve been run over by a truck… and a big truck at that.  It’s not that I need to use on of the Hangover Helper recipes from the other day… though I did have a few beers.  I woke up with pain in my left hip.  I could barely scramble to the bathroom.  I fully expected to find a giant bruise on my hip, but I know I didn’t fall or bump into anything.

I have  a bit of DJD (degenerative joint disease), but it NEVER bothers me as long as I’m on meds.  This just struck out of the blue this morning.  I’ll manage as long as it doesn’t worsen, then I might go to the doctor.

Anyway, enough about me.

I’m proud of the way you guys handled the Open Mike on Friday.  83 comments – Wow.  Good job.  I think there was only one post that I had to delete. I haven’t had a chance to read them all or check out all the links posted, but I will.  I’m thinking Open Mike might become a regular feature here.

Borrowing a page from J-Walk blog…. and the fact that I really don’t have time right now to ‘scour’, I’m asking to to entertain yourselves… and each other.  (I’m working on a project for a Christmas Party tomorrow night.)
