We’re going to the east coast of Florida on Saturday. I usually travel the other coast of Florida but this trip we’re doing something different. I bought a week at a condo in New Smyrna Beach at a Silent Auction a while back. We’re only going to stay four days though… that’s all the time we can get.
In the past the good faithful readers of B&P have steered us to some fine establishments on our motorcycle trips. If anyone has any suggestions about things to do or places to eat or visit along the mid-Atlantic coast of Florida I’d appreciate it.
Volusia Speedway is not that far north if you enjoy stock car racing, they have a dirt track and an asphalt track, ot at least they did three years ago. You’re also not that from from Daytona, the home of many museums dedicated to racing, both of the two and four wheel variety.
Aunt Catfish’s restaurant, just up the road in port orange, one in Daytona also. If you go, go early
This picture is funny. Have a safe and fun trip.
I hope you are not planning on swimming – they are up to 22 shark attacks there so far for the year. Check out the articles at http://swimatyourownrisk.com/
2 hours south, in beautiful Sebastian, right on the scenic Indian River is Earls Hideaway! Bikes galore, blues and burgers. Ah paradise, thy name is Earls.

Jonco,
So you’re riging your scooter?
if so let me know and i will grab the wife and ride over for lunch or something.
PUB 44 is cool, cabbage patch is a hole in the wall but if you have never been its a must see.
And a ride around the space coast is always nice if you have time.
Would love to go for a ride with if possible.
I’ll be on the black X with the DEADDOG plate.
let me know
Dave
Probably too far for your short trip, but about 90 miles south is the National US Navy UDT-Seal Museum.
Virtual tours of it here: http://www.navysealmuseum.com/
(Well now that you’ve taken the virtual tours, why go? Never mind then.)
Thanks for all the suggestions. And two for Pub 44! We’ll definitely have to check that out.
Unfortunately we’re flying down and renting a car. We’ve talked about renting a bike while there, but not sure that’ll happen.
I did ride to Key West a few years ago with three buddies. We trailered our bikes to St. Pete, then rode 1,000 miles across to Melbourne and down the coast to Key West, then back up the gulf coast to St. Pete again. We had a great time.
If you want some great food, Spanish River Grill is terrific. If you’re a wine enthusiast, Norwood’s has one of the most extensive wine lists in that part of the state.
