@bailey – The key point to this poster is the quote from Sarah Palin and the yard between popularist sound bites to gain right/left wing votes, what you’re expected to say if you want to become a republican governor and the reality of life and what maybe right when you take out ridiculous electioneering and tradition left/right stances.

Funny how they did everything in their power to keep the John Edward story from being reported. Funny how they don’t report on Obama’s ties to an unrepentant terrorist, or his ties to a vile, hate-filled preacher, or his ties to a convicted felon whom he happened to get his property from at a discount. I too think it’s in poor taste to give the kid crap for something we ALL did in high school, even though most of us probably didn’t have a baby as a result…but I still thought this was funny and clever.
Also, at the same time, how are people NOT supposed to mention that a kid in the “family values” party in in this situation? To me it just shows poor judgement on McCain’s part to put the girl in that situation when he says he knew before asking Palin to join the campaign. I feel bad for the girl, I really do…but that doesn’t mean there’s no mixed-message being sent here.
Though, mostly I just found the Juno/Juneau thing clever. 🙂
…but I will say that I’m going to be having nightmares of McCain in those shorts for weeks to come.
I like how every once in a while Jonco finds something that shakes the tree to get rid of a few loose nuts.
I too liked the play on words juno/Juneau and thought it was clever.

apparently candidates kids are only off limits if your last name is Clinton.
Huh? There are multitudes of “Chelsea’s ugly” jokes dating back to Clinton’s run from such folks as Limbaugh and even Mr. McCain.
This article’s ridiculously slanted…but it contains some pretty interesting examples of kids not being off limits in previous elections, particularly as it applies to what the Republicans have said in the past: (Apologies for the guy’s tone…I didn’t write it…I just think he’s right.)
Looks like some folks think that 2 wrongs must make a right. Chelsea was unfairly criticized. That doesn’t make picking on Mrs. Palin’s daughter ok. This poster is in incredibly poor taste. A grown up should know better. I am one of your fans who turn here first each day. Guess I’ll have to rethink that move after this post. You could apologize and at least begin to make things right.
….to the whiners….Get a sense of humor, you might find it in the clearance section of your nearest Walmart…jeesh.

I’m really starting to think people are so up in arms about this just because they know it’s almost completely sunk the campaign and all they have left now is anger. These jokes were just fine when it was Jamie Lynn Spears…but God forbid it happens in politics.
