I like the mouse trap that is basically a lid for a 5-gallon bucket. It has a trap door on it and comes with a ramp. A little bit of peanut butter or something to entice the mouse.
The mouse walks up the ramp and goes for the food. Its weight causes the trap door to fall open and the mouse falls in to the bucket.
Add water to the bucket for a little easier clean up.
is that like the tequila, stick, and rock for mosquitos?
Might sound like it, but the mouse trap I described works well.

Here is a Midwest chain selling it–the bucket is not included: https://www.menards.com/main/outdoors/insect-pest-control/animal-traps-repellents/rinnetraps-flip-n-slide-bucket-lid-mouse-trap/rtfns21/p-1642874256766355-c-10120.htm
I’m familiar with Menards – if I ever build a house I am ordering my trusses from them
Heck, you can order a whole house from them.
