Yes, chickens do eat grass. They also eat grains and bugs. Just don’t give your mower clippings to your chickens as it can cause fatal crop impaction. Speaking from experience.
Asking for gluten free chicken may not be totally wrong.
Some years ago I saw “gluten free ham” in a butchery in Germany and asked what that was about.
Turns out some sausages and ham are cured with a sauce containing flour to give a better crust – and if you are really heavily allergic to gluten this could be problematic.
I don’t know if anyone does the same for chicken, but I wouldn’t be astonished too much if at least some flavouring pre-packaged marinades contained wheat flour.
