1971 Chevrolet Vegas being loaded onto unique railroad cars that were engineered to transport 30 vehicles vertically, nose-down, nearly doubling the capacity of standard autoracks.

Those “Vegas” might actually be Pontiac Astres … same car (ish), slightly different nose.
They look more like Astres but they might have been assembled in the same plant. Having had to do warranty work on the Vegas all I can say it was the worst car I ever worked on. Junk brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension and bodies that rusted just looking at them.

The Fat Man design used a plutonium core with a sub-critical mass. When it was time to go “boom” the core was compressed sharply inwards by a chemical explosive implosion.
The compression would result in the core becoming critical owing to its increased density.
The guys working on the Chrysler Building in 1926: that looks typical from other picts I have seen. And I think OSHA is a few decades from being created from that point.
The car carrier: isn’t that a better way to damage the cars in transit than the more common way to transport them?
