  2. For young people whose eyes are pretty good, pictures like this are what the whole world looks like in real life to someone who’s had cataracts removed. There were years of increasingly bad, blurry, cloudy, colorless-except-for-gray-brown vision, then the lenses are replaced with good clear ones, and voila. They fixed my eyes last summer and I’m still enjoying the results.

    In the future, cybernetic eyes will let you apply any filter imaginable to real life. Everything can be a cartoon, or an oil painting, or anything. You’ll be able to choose how many fingers people have.
