I didn’t know battleships had enough deck space for an airplane and the cables to hold it down in transit.
Some like the U.S.S. Arizona had catapults on top of the turrets to launch scout- seaplanes.
The aircraft were launched into the air using catapults and retrieved from the water using cranes as in the Photo
