I don’t know that one; I love Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva and Appleton Estates 15 year Black River if you can find it otherwise the 8 year is my sweet spot… – (The regular 15 and 21 year gets some offputting flavor from that much time in the barrel imo) … but I am also pretty fond of some of the planteray bottles too; (notably the Sealander; XO and PXXXO…
I am heading down to Florida next week and planning to swing by “Richland Distillery” in Brunswick to pick up some of their rum – never had Rum from Georgia before…
I am also trying to get whiskey from all the Georgia (Whiskey) Distilleries to do some blind comparisons… I’ve been to most of the ones up north of I-20 but there are a few down south I want to get before the tasting… (I’ve already got 13th Colony, 1861 and Longleaf covered but there are a few distilleries in the southern part of the state that I haven’t been able to find in the local stores…)
All this time I thought Smirnoffs was cheap russian crap; turns out it’s been cheap american crap the whole time…
Knob Creek is pretty good and Cruzan is from St. Croix; fwiw: I would steer clear of any alcohol that comes in plastic bottles
I’ve grown quite fond of Brugal Extra Viejo that’s made in Dominican Republic. Very smooth and a nice sipping aged rum.
$20 for a 1L bottle at Moe’s Market on St Thomas
