Am I the only one who wonders whether the compulsion (nay, requirement) to blur or #@ words has done anything to soothe the nerves of society? Not being able to read words like porn, death, suicide, rape doesn’t seem to have made us any nicer to one another. Seems to me wever just gotten more aggressive toward people we don’t even know.

Some social media sites will demote posts with some of those words.
And since some social media will pay for large engagements, people try to self-edit.
