Trump was just celebrating the “Peaceful Tourist Day” of 2021. Soon to be a national holiday when the loyal patriots tried to stop the Capitol Police from taking over the certification of the election. /S
Attempts of modifications of the so recent history about that day is already taking place.
1984 combined with Idiocracy. So sad we are living in that double movie sequel.
May I beat your skull with a flagpole and see if you remain to live a day or two later? It would all be in the name of science. Oh wait, I forget you don’t believe in science.
“The real villains, the White House wrote in bold type, were “the Democrats who staged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters.”
This bastardized version of what really happened on Jan 6, is actually a recruitment website. What it is saying is, this administration will glorify you if you act in the service of the circus peanut. That action can be as violent as one chooses, this administration will back you and honor you. There are enough weak-minded insecure people who would enjoy an opportunity to kill without accountability. Many are now ICE agents. All this website is doing now is recruiting more sociopaths into the rank and file to randomly go out and “deal” with his detractors.
“In reality, modern Republican policies have rarely served everyday people”
An absolute truth. Challenge any conservative voter with this question: “What bill in the last 40 years has the GOP ever promoted by a majority of the GOP, had a majority of GOP votes and was signed by a GOP president that was designed to majorly help the average working American more than the wealthy?”
They may sputter and may come back with something, but a simple fact check will show that their bills help the wealthy and corporations in more ways than everyday people. In fact, most policy by the GOP not only helps the wealthy and corporations, but also help to make the average American get sick and die. (Ex: deregulating regulations that were designed for a cleaner environment, help corporations poison populations without accountability.)
Well, the recent tax breaks that were finally written into law helps 80% of the taxpayers and raises rates for the highest income-earners. That was signed into law last year.
Also, that law keeps tips and overtime pay under $12,500.00 to be tax-free from federal taxes.
It increases healthcare costs for millions of Americans. It increases out-of-pocket- expenses for new Medicare enrollees. It took away food from children in need. It increases monthly payments on student loans.
It bathes ICE in money and helps create a force that exists to threaten the citizenry. It diverts public school funding to benefit the wealthy.
It increased the cost of living and lower after-tax income for the bottom 40 percent of earners while giving the top 20 percent of earners a $6,000 per year average tax cut. So again, hurting the Average American more than benefiting them.
Not to mention it increase the national debt. (Fun fact: if all three tax breaks from Reagan, Bush and the circus peanut were reversed, we would eliminate the national debt.)
There’s a net financial loss for the bottom 30% of American households by income – after factoring in its tax provisions and cuts in benefits. It hits the lowest-earning 10% of Americans hardest: for them, it would mean a $1,600 cut in income on average.
The Yale Budget Lab found that the bottom 20% of US households would see their incomes drop by 2.9% on average over the next decade, and the second lowest quintile – moderate-income households – would suffer a 0.4% loss of income on average. But the richest 20% would see their incomes rise by 2.3%. Those in the top 1% would see their incomes climb by $29,585 on average.
So yeah, the bill mostly helps the wealthy and hurts the average American.
The healthcare costs implemented by the so-called “Affordable” Health Care Act? And the tax-funded subsidies that the Democrats put in to hide the cost increases with an expiration of the end of 2025?
Student loans were on hold but those students still have to pay. I am not surprised to increased and from what I remember, the majority of students that took out loans were from mid- to upper-income families.
I wanted to find a chart that compares tax rates over the years but couldn’t find a good one.
The deficit is because Washington has a spending problem, not a taxing problem.
The healthcare costs are increasing because of the refusal to extend the subsidies that were in place. Far be it from me to assume you understand how things work, but insurance rates are heavily based on pools. The larger the pool, the lower the rates. By removing a substantial portion of the pool because they no longer have subsidies to assist them, it decreases the pool, thus increases costs. In addition to higher costs, the healthier people who may also get affected by higher costs may defer from getting insurance “until it is needed”. (Albeit, not a sensible decision, but one made nonetheless) thus decreasing the pool even more PLUS preventing the insurance companies from collecting money from the non-insurers to help offset those who plan on collecting, thus increasing costs even further.
Blame the ACA if you want, but it was a right-wing think tank that created the idea, was first used by Romney in MA, and a mandate was required in order to offset the excessive jumps in rates. But, your right-wing lunatics went to court to remove the mandate, thus creating the start of jumps in rates.
Many on the left were not happy over the ACA, but it was a start and had the public option been included in the original bill, the issue today may be moot. The obvious best and cheapest solution would be single-payer which would save the nation billions in healthcare costs over a decade.
And if you still wish to debate that single-payer is worse, prove to me that a < 4% overhead is less cost effective than skimming 20% off the top for profit in addition to denying healthcare in order to improve profits is better for the health of Americans. And mind you, a single-payer is just a payment for services, not the services itself, so don't try to muddy the waters by suggesting otherwise.
Highly doubt upper income families had nearly as much in student loans as those below them. Their income bracket alone allows them to afford college a helluva lot easier than low and middle income families.
Oh, and want to touch back to the no tax on tip bs you cite. Many tipped workers already don’t pay federal income tax. According to researchers at the Brookings Institute, 37% of tipped workers “earn so little that they pay no federal income tax.”
Moreover, exempting tips from taxation will lead to cases where low-income workers end up effectively losing income through losing eligibility to tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
So yeah, consequences for a larger portion of working Americans. Another failed attempt on your behalf to post an argument.
I wish to highlight a line from the first link: "In the past 40 years, every Republican administration from Ronald Reagan to Trump increased the deficit. And every Democratic administration lowered the deficit."
You need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if you truly love America and it's founders principles or do you prefer a country run by corporations whose only intention is to steal, rob and plunder both the people and the government. You need to choose between a democratically elected representative republic or a fascist nation. As of now, you're leaning toward the latter.

January 6, 2021, has had much misinformation spread.
For instance, how many died in/around the capitol that day? about 4: 3 of natural causes (like heart attack) and veteran Ashli Babbitt.
No Capitol Police died, although one died of a stroke the following day or two. And none died because of any injuries from that day.
May I beat your skull with a flagpole and see if you remain to live a day or two later? It would all be in the name of science. Oh wait, I forget you don’t believe in science.
LOL.
The Capitol Cop’s autopsy shows he died of natural causes.
“They have a horrible policy. They do stick together. They’re violent, they’re vicious, you know. They’re vicious people.”
Classic projection.

Oh look, here's a chart which proves my point. Amazing what a little effort on a search engine can do if one possesses the intelligence to operate a keyboard:

The GOP has a spending problem. By design:
