A Levy County Florida man accidentally shot his wife in the leg on Friday morning, killing a fox that had locked its jaws onto the woman, deputies reported.
After the fox was pried off the woman’s leg by paramedics, she was taken to Shands at the University of Florida, where she was listed in stable condition later in the day.
Donald and Patricia Vrana had spotted an unknown animal in their yard and went out to investigate, Sullivan said. But once outside, the animal attacked the woman, biting her left leg. She couldn’t get away from the animal and told her husband to get a gun.
Donald Vrana tried to shoot the fox with a .22-caliber rifle, firing seven times. He killed the animal but also accidentally shot his wife in the lower right leg, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Definitely a case of needing more gun control.
you take a deep breath let it out slow and aim squeezing the trigger.
one shot dead animal and your a hero.
instead of having to listen to all your friends make jokes about you.
cousin of Dick Cheney?
How the hell could it take seven shots, that moron does not need a gun.A 22? give me a break try a 12 gauge next time
well if it was cheneys cousin, the woman would have been hit in the face…lol…
plus I could see it taking seven shots… the guy probably missed a few times just out of the commotion going on. .22 are pretty pathetic rounds at best, he was probably gut shooting the thing with no luck slowing it down before trying to hit it in the head…
Fox would not attack a woman like that unless it was rabid.
.
Thsi story was…dare I say(?)…photoshopped!
Could alcohol have possibly been involved?
i think dj is right a fox would not attack some one for no reason unless it was pushed in to a corner or something damn people….
If I had a nickel for every time I had to shoot a fox off of my wife’s leg….
Tooo funny, Larry
