    • Like the ones here legally that have been detained because they were residing while brown . Or the ones that lost their visa and were arrested while they were trying to get a replacement. Or the one that ICE refused their proof of legality instead telling him his ID was a phony. Or ones that didn’t dot their T’s and cross their eyes on their paperwork.
      But not to worry if you are white and speak with the proper accent. As ruled by the Supreme Trump Court.
      “Papers Please ” is now the new norm. Better carry your birth certificate.

  5. Always sad to see the uninformed comments. “Only illegal immigrants, blah blah blah…” Which if you got information from honest sources, they would know legal or not, they’re deporting them. The court approved racial profiling. They interfere with courts to dismiss cases of people who are doing the right thing to become citizens. They violate the Constitution by denying habeaus corpus to those arrested. That element of the Constitution pertains to ALL people, not just citizens. Read the damn thing.

    FYI: To be in this country without proper documentation is a misdemeanor, not a felony. The words, “murderers and rapists” are felonies, which is what they said they were after but is not the case. Just know, if the circus peanut continues on this path, the color of your skin won’t matter, the the thought police will came after you for having an opinion contrary to this administration. The cancel culture all these snowflakes cried about is perfectly fine when it suits their side.

    If one chooses to claim “both sideism”, then you were never against the cancel culture but only when it works against you, which is hypocritical. Just know this, not one Democratic leader threatened to pull an FCC license unless a network kissed their ass. You all can make up stories that say otherwise, but you can’t provide a legit link that proves otherwise.

    Crops are rotting in the fields. New home construction has been scaled back. And all that free money going into SS coffers has been taken away. Yes, immigrants pay into SS and collect nothing. That’s a fact. Fake numbers cannot collect.

  6. Legal status aside, these are human beings, and they deserve to be treated better. They wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t a market for unskilled/lowskilled labor. And if we proclaim to be the greatest country in the world – why WOULDN’T others want to come live the American Dream?

    • Here’s the kicker. A law already exists to fine and/or imprison companies that hire illegals. So, why ain’t it enforced? Because the employers are rich, white people. They know they’re safe which is why they literally advertise for jobs across the border. This way they not only get cheap labor, they get workers who fear their company will turn them in if they don’t do what they’re told.

      Don’t blame the immigrant. They’re just trying to feed their family. Blame the rich white guy who constantly abuses the law and his workers.

      The market for cheap labor should be ended by penalizing the companies. right now, since companies can hire illegals for less money than citizens or legal immigrants, many are unable to find jobs.

      • First of all, being in this country without proper documentation is a misdemeanor. Wanna call that a crime? So is jay walking, but neither are considered major crimes punishable by sending to a concentration camp.

        Yes, penalize companies. That was my point, but because we live in a white privilege country, those businesses go unpunished.

        • Even better – let’s provide a better system designed to allow someone to become a citizen. More citizens = more revenue from taxes, more economic stimulation, more achieved goals like taking care of homeless vets and stray puppies

          • Look, I’m not promoting getting money for nothing, but immigrants contribute immensely not only to the economy, but also to Medicare and SS, the latter two of which they never receive. With many being kidnapped off the streets, it’s a quicker way to lose money for those two insurances. Having said that, SS will need to be going back to the pay as you go method, which will mean less payouts once the surplus runs dry.

    I’ve never seen it changed to “please don’t come unless you’re white and have enough money already. Oh, and ‘Latino’ isn’t white enough…”

    • exactly, yet instead of expediting the process to help these people become citizens, they stay locked in limbo from all the bureaucratic red tape – then the subject of debate with every fucking election. Sure, there are criminals mixed in with that crowd, but so are the white people that shoot up our schools and molest our children.

    • That was a plaque added years after the Statue of Liberty was erected and is a poem someone wrote to win a contest; it is not a law.

        • There was a time the U.S. was looked as a positive place to establish a life that was perhaps impossible elsewhere. After all, it was immigrants who built this country into being the formidable power that it once was. Now we’re seen as a laughingstock of uneducated miscreants who vote to put in a felon and pedophile into office.

          So, the ideas and value expressed in that plaque are no longer valid. Not because the majority of the country wants it that way, but rather a bunch of neo-Nazi white christian nationalists threaten the rest of us if they don’t get their way.
