Frankly, the subscription requirement that has ended “purchase is ownership” has been rampant and directly determines which products I buy. The list includes Microsoft products, Adobe products, and Apple products.
I also will not get products that require I also get an app.

It’s extending to some cars too… features like navigation or extra horsepower… although from what little I’ve read, the sales people kind of gloss that over.
Yes, Microsoft wants you to subscribe to their 365 stuff, but if you are getting your own computer, you can still buy MS Office.
I am with you, though: I want to buy the software for my computer, not rent it.
