  1. Frankly, the subscription requirement that has ended “purchase is ownership” has been rampant and directly determines which products I buy. The list includes Microsoft products, Adobe products, and Apple products.
    I also will not get products that require I also get an app.
    Yes, I’m close to retiring and really look forward to changing my voicemail message to: this mailbox is not monitored and your call will not be returned. If it’s important, call back. If you’re peddling anything, pound salt.

    • It’s extending to some cars too… features like navigation or extra horsepower… although from what little I’ve read, the sales people kind of gloss that over.

    • Yes, Microsoft wants you to subscribe to their 365 stuff, but if you are getting your own computer, you can still buy MS Office.

      I am with you, though: I want to buy the software for my computer, not rent it.
