I think The Kinks sang it best: “Paranoia, the Destroyer” – the song is “Destroyer”
Some years the electric company changed our meters to ones that did not have to be read by a human walking from yard to yard. The conspiracy theories ran around like mad. They were accused of being spy machines so the electric usage could be used by others to know when people use the electricity the most so indicating when the occupants were there. Or the radio signals were causing every disease known to science. And they complained loudly while holding their cell phones to their ears.
Not even going to start about the spy cameras in microwaves. Some were even buying covers to stop the spy signals from getting out.
