I saw Get Smart tonight. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of laugh-out-loud moments. I think Steve Carell is the perfect guy to play Maxwell Smart, or Agent 86.
It’s getting mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it. If you like Steve Carell, and I do except I just don’t ‘get’ The Office, then you’ll like this movie. If you’re old enough to remember Don Adams and Barbara Feldon from the TV series, you’ll enjoy it even more.

It now funny to think how dumb and crazy Don Adams was as Maxwell Smart. Here’s a bit about the real Adams from Wikkpedia.
“Adams served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was wounded during the Battle of Guadalcanal, nearly dying. Upon his recovery and return to the States, he served as a drill instructor. As a Marine Corps drill instructor he was commended by his superiors for being able to exceed the performance of his recruits at every required physical task.”
I need to add as the only survivor of his platoon, then to become a Marine DI. This guy in real life could be a tough SOB, the opposite of the silly Maxwell Smart.

Get Smart looks okay overall, though Steve Carell seems to be veering more and more toward slapstick-style humor
