Reactions to McCain’s speech

via

I think John McCain might be a really nice guy, a very smart man, a war hero, and a very patriotic American.  He’d make a good neighbor, but I’m not so sure he’d be a good President.  I know that how someone says something isn’t as important as what he says, but this guy scares me when I think he could be the next President of the United States.  But, how you say something is very important…. the presentation is crucial if you want the people to have confidence in your ability to lead them.

I’m not talking about his policies or his plans, just his presentation.  It is awful.  He’s certainly no Ronald Reagan, that’s for sure.  Reagan could sleep through meetings and sometimes seemed befuddled, but when he spoke he exuded confidence and leadership.   I just don’t see that in McCain.

  1. The past few times I’ve seen McCain speak, it’s obvious he’s trying to soften his image, because in between every sentence, he pastes a cheesy smile on his face, as if it says on the TelePrompTer.

  2. McCain is obviously (blink) wearing (blink) contact lenses (blink blink blink).

The rapid blinking makes him look dishonest.

But if he can’t see the teleprompter without contacts or glasses then he’s between a rock and a hard place.

  3. Oh, thank you! I needed that. I was feeling a bit glum today about the difficulty Obama might face in November and that compilation really lifted my spirits. The yellow dentures, the confused sweaty look, the nonsensical drone, the awkward grunting laugh. Even Bill Kristol and Karl Rove seemed embarrassed. Along with McCain’s blighted views on most of the issues, well, this is going to be a fun, enjoyable, relaxing race and I can’t wait til the fall.

  4. Looking at John McCain’s “smiles” the other night made me want to call my daughters and tell them to keep my grandchildren in the house until McCain has been put away safely. Obama’s smiles, on the other hand, light up my day.

  5. Agreed – there are thousands of sites to see people carry on about politics; that’s not why BnP is on top of my “Daily” list.
