  1. Great video. I just adopted a puppy from St. Louis Pet Rescue. I would encourage averyone to look into adopting/rescuing a dog from a shelter. These animals have done nothing wrong and deserve a loving family.

  2. Okay, that made me cry a bit. We rescued our pitbull, Nina, who had been used for breeding and Molly, our lab that had always lived in a kennel. They are the best snuggle buddies. We also adopted a cat named Twitter recently. I tell my husband that any animals we get must come from a shelter. Too many need homes for me to get an animal from a breeder.

  3. There are so many wonderful animals in shelters. Dogs just like Edie who with a little love can become wonderful members of the family. My motto forever will be Adopt never Buy. Thank you Jonco for posting this.
The pic is my shelter dog Rudy. He was so afraid at the shelter he wouldn’t even come to the front of his cage to be petted. He is the biggest sweetheart there is now that he’s home. :o)

  4. Every one of my dogs and cats have come from the pound. As a member of a local rescue league, I know the pain of not being to adopt out an animal in time. In the South, too many states have little or no spaying/neuter laws and the results are terrible. Thank goodness several Northern states are very strict about animal laws. Hey, what do you know..one thing good about the North. LOL

  5. I cried as I watched that. What a dear little dog! I wish more people would consider shelter animals as pets. My three cats are from shelters. Others in my life have been also…the most wonderful little sweeties. I am most grateful they “found” me.

  6. WOW! What a wonderful, heartwarming story! I truly hope a LOT more people see this, and opt for adoption. My three cats are from shelters, and it absolutely breaks my heart whenever I hear of someone buying an animal from a breeder. Thank you for posting this!!

  7. I think that this is the most profoundly moving thing I have seen on B&P.

The act of putting the little fella on his lap immediately after the dog had pooped in fright, is one of utter understanding and compassion.

I would defy anyone to watch this and feel no emotion.
