  1. That IS the problem with the way metric has been taught in the US for decades — too much focus on conversion formulas.
    Just say HERE is a kilogram, HERE is a meter, get used to it.

    You can tell ANYONE that so many grams is that many raisins and they go “OHHHHHH….now I get it…”

  2. Oh, I’m an engineer from that classic age. When the U.S. was moving to metric. In college – late 70’s – we did exactly half our problems in SAE (English), and half in metric. During Thermodynamics, the teacher made the mistake of saying “use whatever units you want!”. The best answer, next day, was in “short tons per cubic hectare”. Yeah, baby, engineers are COOL! BOOYA!

  3. Why doesn’t Planet America conform with the rest of the world for once and convert to the more superior metric system.I was taught the imperial system up until 5th grade and could never revert back to the draconian imperial system.
