After the LA wildfires

The first drive up the Angeles Crest Highway by Hal and Susan McAlister on 3 September after the station fire. They were escorted by LA County Sheriff’s deputies. They were stunned by what they saw. The devastation speaks for itself.

  1. You can bet the farm that these areas will see numerous devastating mud slides in the coming 5 years. With all the vegetation gone from these steep slopes, it is an absolute certainty.

    Aside from a few burnt trees and the complete lack of brush, it doesn’t look that much different than what it normally would. You can tell by the steep rocky landscape that there wasn’t much in the way of housing or even trees to begin with in that area.
