The sad thing is that, since it happened in Philly, the home town fans booed her unmercifully. Remember, this is the city where the fans have booed Santa Claus.
This has turned into a big deal. Phillies management immediately provided dad with a souvenir ball, the video has gone viral, and the family will be on national TV tomorrow. And the crowd didn’t boo at all.
Wow can’t believe the home town would boo a toddler, what is with people these days?
They’re Philly fans…. what do you expect? LOL But, I must say… this Dad sure made a great impression on me. What a reaction he had to his daughter. I’ll look at Philly fans a little less suspiciously after seeing that.
It made the NBC Nightly News tonight and the Today Show this morning.
I love the Dad’s reaction. What a great Dad.
YAY CRISPY!
@ Mike F,
I had lunch with DJ yesterday. He had many nice things to say about you, one of which was you inspired him to start blogging. He was disappointed that you didn’t make the Little Ass BBQ in Atlanta this past Saturday.
Crispy, right on the money buddy. I now know why it is named the city of “Fatherly Love”, or something like that.
If you think about it, she did the right thing. If someone loses a ball, aren’t we taught to give it back? If dad kept it, she might think he’s stealing it. I know that probably makes little sense to the sports nuts here, but I’d actually praise her for doing that. If that happened to me and one of my kids, I’d be ok with it.
Perhaps she is a cricket fan.
Paul tell us more about the meeting
he just smiled, what a pleasant reaction. If i were him, i would have different reaction. How about you?
Infi,
I was sworn to secrecy. Beyond that, I will let DJ tell you in his own words.
