  1. Laugh all you want,,, I am close enough to retirement i dont have to worry about paying for your inability to understand that YOU are the “government”, and that the more they give you the more they take away. But thats fine you just keep letting the six oclock news tell you what to think, At some point I am sure they will have something for you to tell your children when they asked why YOU let the most powerfull country in the world fold up and die.

  2. spasticjack when you retire do us all a favor, put your money where your mouth is and don’t apply for Medicare, it’s a socialist government run program, and you don’t want to be a hypocrite do you?

  3. Bitch about “gubmint healthcare” all you want, but Tom Jr. is right: when you retire, don’t you DARE sign up for Medicare! Hypocrites.

  4. People seem to spend more time bashing the opposing parties than trying to come up with real solutions. It’s time for our elected officials to find out what the root of the problems are before trying to fix them. It’s like they have been in charge of running a huge machine and whenever they hear something funny they grab a wrench and some oil and start turning and hosing things without first finding the root cause of the problem. All the while, the guys standing behind them are bickering and moaning about which way to turn the nut.

  5. I wonder if these bill of rights are as cool and effective as the freedom to fail, I mean, freedom to farm bill and the contract on America, I mean, contract with America.

  6. Hate to break it to you spasticjack, but you pay for healthcare either way. It’s not that we don’t pay for it now, we just pay for it in different ways.

  7. DJ: That’s really frightening, but can anyone really say they’re surprised? The nation is turning into a socialist regime day by day. Does anyone remember the values this country was founded on? Freedom? What kind of freedom does forced state care afford? What kind of freedom is there when you no longer have a choice? People don’t seem realize that this socialized health care is not free. Their taxes will go up enormously, and they’ll end up left with really, really shitty care, higher taxes, lower quality physicians, and no choice.

People made a wrong choice with Obama, and are realizing it really damn fast. Do they really want to ruin their health care system too, again after it’s too late to do anything about it?

  8. I keep telling myself to avoid the comments on this blog. By all means, lets get rid of socialist stuff like Medicare, Social Security, the Armed Forces, Police Departments, Fire Departments, paramedics, county hospitals, the Post Office, health care for Congress and the military, free public schools and instead keep bankrupting people who can’t afford huge medical bills which subsidize emergency care for those who have no insurance.

  9. Infidel: that picture was on the Wal-Mart picture website.

Brett: You are making too much sense for our politicians. You are right, we need to fix what is broken, not go in the direction the politicians are taking us.

Barbwire: What we should to is get such programs as police, fire departments, schools, hospitals, and paramedics out from federal control and under state (or more local) control as they should be. The Post Office is now pretty much self-funding, so it can stay. I am all for Congress having to pay for their own health care and their retirement rather than waste tax dollars on that. As for the military, that should be kept as a federal program and has nothing to do with socialism. I am also all for getting rid of the largest Ponzi scheme in the world: Social Security (but obviously has to be done in a controlled way so those on it are not shut out in the cold). And if we fix health care so it is as easy to buy as car insurance, would we need Medicare?

  10. So, if we don’t want to sign up for medicare, can we quit paying for it?? No, so we sign up until someone gets their head out of their ass and figures how to abolish it properly. Government run programs are not the answer. Fixing the source of the problem, like tort reform and everything else that makes medical treatment so expensive is the answer.

Quit being so goddamn greedy folks! You need to work for what you get!

Yes, privatize the Schools, Fire Department, the Post Office, paramedics, everything you say Barbwire. They’ll do far better as competitive companies than the money pits they are now.
