I live in San Dimas CA near the foothills. I hike the mountains twice a week – or did. So sad.
The first photo reminds me of that Nick Cage movie.
Well, I hope that the tree huggers who fought the clearing of brush for years are happy. Maybe Karma will get their homes.
I can see the Craigslist ad.. This Baby is HOT HOT HOT! Get it quick before it’s GONE! Dirt bike, slightly used, some smoke damage.
The fires are tragic, but I hope this is a wake-up call that the brush in the forests need to be cleared (as Richard said) or fires should be allowed to burn some of that away so huge fires are not an issue.

Not only are the fires a tragedy for people who live in the area, now the EPA wants to penalize Las Vegas (250 miles down-wind)for excessive air pollution. Thanks tree huggers, you’re doing a wonderful job!
