Short chopper ride August 18, 2009 by Jonco As my Georgia friend would say – DAYUM! This was taken in the St. Louis area. I never heard about this. Thanks Sander 00
I like the smartass comment the guy taking the video makes, something like “Short flight, huh?” (I don’t have sound at work to confirm what he said)
I am glad everyone was okay. Jonco–that happened about 5 years ago–that may be why you do not remember it. Or, perhaps the “narrator” misspoke and they were not in St. Louis.
No, it was at the Chesterfield Airport in suburban St. Louis. I just don’t remember hearing about it at the time.
It’s a Robinson R44, not a built it yourself kit. Apart from the accident, this is not how you should take off with these.
Wow! Thankfully, they landed the way they did…could’ve been much worse!

Oh, this is a first class Darwin Award candidate. So who put that overhang in his way?
That pilot was a huge idiot! Which morron takes off under an overhanging hangar door???
