Just down the road a spell from me, that’s the June 17th twister. I was in the shower listening to the radio people loosing their minds as they related the latest “we’re all going to die” warnings. After a mild spring they just had to go all out once. After I rinsed off and turned off the radio I watched the cell off in the distance. Worked out for me, I just got a bit more rain as the cold front slid in which made for a pleasant enough summer evening.
This was a big funnel, rotational speed wasn’t bad – just an EF2 with 111-135mph winds. Flipped some pivots, wrecked some fella’s house and took the roof off the P&G plant further up the road, but that’s about it. Nobody got killed, never heard of any injuries.
This one was cooperative enough to run pretty much straight down the highway so lots of people could get video. The six in town here last year weren’t so polite so the video isn’t as good. These same guys have a longer version of the video showing the plant losing the roof and there are a few more angles if you like watching twisters.

Thanks for sharing that with us Mick Nash. That was interesting from a local person. I bet you would have a lot of interesting stories to tell us?
Naw, darlin. I have the one story I tell differently each time. With this version being local there was more detail than usual.
Haha, good one Mick Nash.
