Actually, to us Brits, this makes sense, because of the Sunday trading laws, shops can only trade for 6 hours. So, the 24 hour operation comes to an end at 10 pm on a Saturday then opens 11-5 (or 10-4) for Sunday trading and then opens again next morning. Despite thinking we are, we aren’t a 24 hour society in Britain !
