I’ve done this. Makes your car look great. My theory is that the dirt is wet and is constantly being rinsed off, so there’s less potential for scratching. The soap doesn’t dry before getting rinsed off. Etc, etc.
However, I’ve only done this once and probably over 20 years ago. Now I’m older and car appearance doesn’t matter to me quite that much. The $3 automatic car wash is just fine.

I’m going with he was forced to wash his wife’s cheesy little grocery getter as punishment for something he did and she didn’t care if it was raining or not. I just hope he didn’t have to wax it too.
