The man who uttered the infamous words, “Follow the yellow brick road” in the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz, has died in his hometown of St. Louis Missouri. Mickey Carroll was 89 years old and died of natural causes.
In the movie, Carroll played the part of the Munchkinland “Town Crier,” marched as a “Munchkin Soldier” and was the candy-striped “Fiddler” who escorted the movie’s wide-eyed orphan, Dorothy Gale, played by Judy Garland, down the yellow brick road toward Emerald City.
I just read that obit on another site. Wow, small world isn’t it?
LOL, STL eh? Mike you shoulda used ain’t rather than isn’t.
Bet it was a short funeral service.
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself, especially after seeing Mike’s comment.
…He’s not only really dead,
he’s really most sincerely dead.
I went by the burial site today. His Tombstone read…I SHOULDA BEEN A JOCKEY.
As a tiny token of appreciation,
I’d like to buy him a stature.
How big were his thumbs?
Thumbs…wait a second, Scott, look, those are a woman’s hands.
I don’t recall seeing him, he must have kept a low profile.
Scott, Scott, I have your bach.
They do say small things amuse small minds! ^ 🙂
I sure hope you never say that to your husband, Bitsy.
There is nothing small about me Mike, he is always amused!
