  1. Jimbo, I’ve been in a few (not quite so fancy) and you have a blast. The ice is so thick near the edge where all the fishies are, and not in the middle of the lake. It gets so cold that there is often over 6 ft. of solid ice. You can drive a fully loaded tractor-trailer and it wouldn’t crack. Check out ice bridges, that’s how the industries keep moving in the winter months in colder areas. Besides that…..crack me a beer, and dangle a line. They like corn nibblets on a hook, works every time. Just don’t put on Oprah on the tv.

  2. The first pic clearly shows the shoreline of a lake followed by TREES! When did Antarctica get trees? I suspect these pics were taken somewhere in Canada.

  3. pfft, it’s not cold in there, they’re heated/insulated. yeah, i also doubt antarctica, could be anywhere in the midwest but north dakota (where the state tree is the telephone pole).

check out pics from the International Eelpout Festival btw… there’s literally a small town out on the ice (including bar), i’ve seen one that was 2 stories with an aquarium. Big lake in northern MN, this is where I go muskie fishing every year.
