Hey Jonco! Me too- I’ll be in Miami Beach this weekend. I noticed you go there often. I’m actually from Tampa- but haven’t been there in a bit- sometimes I make it to Lakeland though 🙂
…and to the “Duude” guy…I think it may be real. I’ve been hiking down in the Everglades before and although I have not seen a sign like that- it is super creepy b/c gators do sit along the paved walkways! I thought it was disturbing when I first saw them. But they didn’t move a muscle….thank God!! 🙂
I usually go about an hour and a half south of Tampa. I’ve been across alligator alley – by car and by motorcycle. I’ve seen quite a few gators there, but not too many that close to the road…at least on the trips I made thru there.
I happen to have lived in Florida for many years. That’s why I’m very skeptical of that sign, specially given the situation. Most of the times these signs say “no swimming here!”. And the warning to the hickers and bikers is kind of a “needless to say…” type deal. I doubt it would be put out there by the government.
LOL!!! Yeah right!!! I’m from Florida- and this is hilarious!
heehee, What part of Florida? I’ll be going back down there this weekend.
Looks photoshopped, but great sign nonetheless

Those are are smallish looking gators.
I’ve seen much larger.
I got attacked by one about that size. Scare the Sh!t out of me, but no damage.

Still a great sign! Even if made up.
Jonco,
If you’re ever in the Ocala area I’ll take you up the Silver River on my boat. Lots of gators and wildlife. We even have monkeys.
Steve (trimoon)
Thanks Steve. I’ll keep that in mind.
